Color was the main factor in this illustration. I wanted the green mountains to act as a barrier by tempering the power of the red-orange sky. Having the grey treetops, a neutral color, between the two contrasting colors, established the point where the red and green could successfully meet. The black silhouetted objects and building outlines, create mystery, but provide a sense of organization by grounding the objects, and segregating the different colors. The spirit of Mahpiua Luta, (Chief Red Cloud) sits overhead.
